Abingdon-on-Thames, known just as Abingdon between 1974 and 2012, is a historic market town and civil parish in the ceremonial county of Oxfordshire, England, on the River Thames. I spent an afternoon there with a friend, had a coffee and cake at the riverside cafe followed by a relaxing walk along the river Thames. It was a lovely day as we watched the activity on the river followed by a walk around the town admiring the interesting architecture. On the way back we stopped to take some pictures of the surrounding countryside and distant views of Oxford city.
