Hereford and surrounding areas photoshoot.

Just come back from a very enjoyable five day trip to Hereford and surrounding towns and villages. My intention being to document my adventures with photographs and explanatory text to give some idea of the wonderful Herefordshire countryside.

During my drive to Hereford I stopped for lunch and a walk around Ross on Wye, where I took a few pictures before carrying on to my final destination.

When I arrived at Hereford and settled into my hotel, I went for a walk around the city, had dinner and took a few more pictured. My main theme was the Cathedral which was very interesting which I will document later on.

One item of unique interest would be the Knife Angel 27ft tall, 3.5 ton sculpture of an angel made out of
100,000 confiscated knives received from 43 police forces across the UK.

Next day I visited Bromyard, a town in the Bromyard and Winslow civil parish. It is situated in the valley of the river Frome. Bromyard has a number of traditional half -timbered buildings, including some of the pubs, and the parish church dates back to Norman times.

Back to Hereford for the afternoon and evening.

After my

Back to Hereford for the afternoon and evening.

After my evening meal I took a walk around a different part of the city. One interesting picture was the electric bike carrier. The owner told me that is his future way of delivering goods to customers.

It was also possible for a small fee to see the Hereford Mappa Mundi which is a map of the world and heaven as they were understood in the Middle ages.

Day 3 Hereford for the day where I had a much needed relaxed day exploring different parts of the City.

Day 4 I took a trip to Ledbury.

Ledbury is a market town and civil parish in the county of Herefordshire, England, lying east of Hereford, and west of the Malvern Hills. It has a significant number of timber-framed structures, in particular along Church Lane and High Street.

I’ve been here a few times and it really is a lovely place to visit and take some pictures.

My final day had arrived, so after breakfast it was time to pack up and go home. I did take however take a detour to Goodrich castle near Symonds Yat.

Well thats the end of trip to Herefordshire, I hope you have enjoyed my adventure and I look forward to my next one which will be to Harrogate, Carlisle and surrounding areas.
